'All Fired Up'

[clipped for relevant Elisabeth parts]

The pink slip. The boot. The sack. It all means the same thing: You've been fired. And while it's never a nice thing to hear, in the world of acting and soaps, it can strike almost without warning.

Even when the bad news is delivered gently, the reaction from the recipient can vary. For Elisabeth Rohm, who played Dorothy on One Life To Live and was let go in January ['98], emotions were mixed.

"I understand their reasons for not wanting to continue Dorothy," she told Digest.

"I think the character was boring for a lot of people. But it is the weirdest thing- I've never been let go in my life. From anything. And it was kind of like, 'Oh, my God, this is terrible.' "
