'Elisabeth Rohm's stint as Dorothy on OLTL'

Pause [somewhere between missed the mark and worth a second look, in the editor's opinions- as if watching on a VCR with stop, rewind and pause]

When news broke that Elisabeth Rohm had been let go as OLTL's Dorothy, we were left with mixed emotions. Rohm delievered a capable performance- especially early on during her character-defining scenes with Stephen Markle (Mel) and Helen Gallagher (Mary).

What was most refreshing was that Rohm provided Dorothy with an intelligence many younger soap characters lack. But something went terribly awry once OLTL forced the pairing of Rohm's Dorothy with Don Jeffcoat's Joey.

Call it a lethal combination of zero chemistry between the two young actors and the failure of the writing team to realize that Joey Buchanan played by any actor other than Nathan Fillion is in essence a new character to viewers.

Instead, OLTL abruptly placed Joey and Dorothy front and center and tried to ram their romance down our throats.

When the relationship proved to be a bust, something had to give, and regrettably, Rohm took the rap.
