FX's "The Test" Hosted by Jillian Barberie Jillian: "Alright, welcome to The Test- it's the show where you learn more about yourself than you might want to know. Tonight we're taking the 'Give or Take' test. We'll ask you and our celebrities 10 questions that make up an actual personality profile. Thousands of people have already taken the 'Give or Take' test online and tonight you'll find out exactly how you compare and what our personality experts think of you." {Jillian goes on a bit more on where to find the results, and the FX Test website no longer exists, so I cut out that bit of monologue. From here out, I basically post only relevant Elisabeth answers and comments. Just for knowledge, the other celebrities featured on this episode were Tommy Chong, Bryan Kirkwood and Mother Love} Jillian: "Up next, a beautiful young actress who stars as Detective Kate Lockley on the WB's hit show Angel, say hello to Elisabeth Rohm." [audience claps] Jillian: "Alright, it is time for the 'Give or Take' test. Question number one, are you guys all ready for this one? Alright, it's the 'Give or Take' test." Your partner wants sex but you're not in the mood. Would you go along to please them? Elisabeth: "Yes, and I think that would be my answer. I can't really recall a day when I wasn't in the mood so I can't imagine having to say no." [lots of hoots and hollers from audience] It's your day off and your friend asks you to help them move. Do you try to get out of it? Elisabeth: "Right. I would begrudgingly be there. They'd know I wouldn't want to be there but I'd be there." Jillian: "Kicking and screaming all the way." Elisabeth: [laughs] "Yeah." You've found the perfect gift for your friend, but you want it also. Do you keep it? Jillian: "Elisabeth, you are...I can tell you're into clothes and that - what would you do?" Elisabeth: "I would...absolutely. I mean especially...I would keep it. I mean [audience claps, Elisabeth shrugs] I bought my best friend these candlesticks and they were so beautiful and I brought them home and they were right for my house. I mean she's not gonna...what's the difference?" Jillian: "So they never left your house." Elisabeth: "They never left my house." You're planning a quiet evening at home and your partner comes in all pumped up and wanting to take you for a wild evening on the town. Do you: a) Say no and ask them to stay home with you b) Tell them to go without you c) Get up and go Jillian: "What about you, Elisabeth? What do you think? Get up and go?" Elisabeth: "Well, I'm usually the one who wants to be spontaneous, but if that were the case I would definitely say, you know, let's have a rain check and go have a blast. I wouldn't make him stay at home with me to baby-sit me, you know?" Jillian: "You would choose b, then?" Elisabeth: "Yeah." Your friend asks you to pick them up at the airport after midnight. Do you: a) Make up an excuse b) Ask them to find someone else but agree to be their last resort c) Say yes Jillian: "What do you think, Elisabeth?" Elisabeth: "I think I'd definitely ask them to find somebody else but then I'd be their last resort - I'd never abandon them." [audience boos] Jillian: "She has to get up and work on Angel..." Jillian then makes a remark about Tommy hitting on Elisabeth. Mother Love says something like "She's trying to pick him up [seeming to refer to Bryan Kirkwood], he's too young. Honey, I got underwear older than that." Tommy: "She's going to introduce me to her mother." Elisabeth: "That's what I said, Mother Love. It wasn't about me." Jillian: "Oh, you're kidding!" [laughs] Mother Love: "No, you're over here...scheming and plotting..." [inaudible] Jillian: "This is not the dating show! Alright, here's the question..." When you get change back that includes pennies do you put them in the penny dish? Jillian: "Let's start with you." [motions to Elisabeth] Elisabeth: "Yes, absolutely. I mean I don't...I always give money to people when I see them on the street, so yeah." Jillian: "I'd like to hang around your place." [When it comes to Mother Love's turn, she makes a remark to Elisabeth] Mother Love: "She asked if you leave a penny in the penny dish, and she [indicating Elisabeth] says oh yeah I always give money to people on the street - a whole penny." [laughs] Elisabeth: "No!" [laughs] Mother Love: "I'm just kidding!" Jillian: "Here, don't spend it all in one place!" [Elisabeth just looks bemused] Have you donated time or money to a charity in the past six months? Jillian: "Yeah?" [motions to Elisabeth] Elisabeth: "Yeah, I work at Covenant House." Jillian: "Okay. That's a great charity, by the way". [Elisabeth nods] You're invited to a birthday party that says no gifts on the invitation. Do you bring a gift? Elisabeth: "Absolutely." Jillian: "You do?" Elisabeth: "Yeah, of course, because it's someone’s birthday. I love to, I like to give people gifts." Jillian: "Even if they prefaced it no gifts?" Elisabeth: "No gifts, I'd slip something under their pillow, I don't know." Jillian: "That's nice of you. Okay, Bryan?" Bryan: "Uh, yeah, I usually like to bring a card at least. Birthday is like my favorite time of year..." Elisabeth: "Yeah!" Bryan: "It's the day you were born..." Elisabeth: "They just don't want to make you feel obligated, that's why. Everybody likes..." Jillian [slightly interrupts Elisabeth]: "Oh is that what it means?" Bryan: "Yeah." Would you rather give or receive oral sex? Elisabeth: "I guess I'd rather receive. [guys in the audience clap and hoot; Elisabeth looks slightly chagrined] But I like both, so it's not a problem!" Do you sometimes feel you give more than you receive? Jillian: "Elisabeth?" Elisabeth: "I think that I, I sometimes feel that more...yeah, maybe that I give more than I get." [After everyone answers the question and it's time for results, Jillian stops a moment to question Tommy and Elisabeth] Jillian: "Did you guys make a love connection, by the way, for your mother?" Elisabeth: "We're still working on it." Jillian: "Still working on it, alright." Elisabeth: "I love my mother, he's a nice guy..." [Jillian then reveals the results, and where each celebrity ranks] Jillian: "If you fall into the middle category, like Elisabeth, you typify a healthy mix of give and take in your relationships." Elisabeth: "I'm healthy, Mother Love!" Jillian: "Yes, and men would agree you're very healthy. Those close to you surely appreciate your giving nature, but they also respect your ability to set certain limits and think of yourself from time to time."
