'Between Them And Calvin'
by Robert Kahn
New York Newsday Website
Ask a celeb about the most memorable Calvin Klein outfit of the past few years, and you'll be met with blank stares, but ask them about a favorite ad and names will be dropped faster than Mark Wahlberg's trousers.
"I love Travis, the underwear guy," American Media editor Bonnie Fuller said at Milk Studios, where she turned up for Tuesday night's Klein Spring 2004 show.
Radar editor Maer Roshan opted for edgier: His fave was the mid-'90s campaign that featured scantily clad teens lounging in a paneled rec room and a sleazy guy inquiring: "What's your name?"
"Somehow, it spoke to me," Roshan said.
"24" star Sarah Wynter went with a classic choice: The old Brooke Shields "Nothing Comes Between Me and My Calvins" come-ons.
"It's not such a bad thing to be known for your ads," said the actress, who is dating actor Scott Foley. "He [Klein] wouldn't be here if he didn't back it up with good clothes."
PACK RATS. Bebe Neuwirth barreled into the Badgley Mischka show wearing haremesque black slacks ... and a ripped leather biker jacket she confessed to having bought sometime in the '80s.
"The jacket's got paint on it," she said, modeling her, uh, semi-couture look for paparazzi. "My furniture at home doesn't match either."
Coincidentally, it was discovered that "Law & Order" beauty Elisabeth Rohm, who was sitting nearby, also has an old leather jacket she can't part with - a full-length, double-breasted get-up from Jaeger on Madison Avenue that she bought seven years ago as a college student.
"It makes me realize I've come a long way," Rohm said. "And since it cost me a year's worth of savings, I'm never going to throw it out."
